What Are Your 5 Favorite Makeup Brushes?

shutterstock_181902668_opt YAY, you made it through Monday! Happy Tuesday everyone. I was wondering what your absolute favorite makeup brushes are at the moment? Here are some of my favorites…

1. NARS Ita Kabuki Brush

If you are a makeup addict, then you have probably heard about the NARS Ita Kabuki brush that everyone is currently raving about. Unfortuantely, it’s sold out almost everywhere! Thankfully, I was able to order it online and give it a try.

First, I would usually NEVER spend this much money on a brush, but after trying it out in stores, I knew it would be a great investment. This brush is designed specifically for contouring. It has a sleek thin handles and super soft dense bristles. The bristles are dense enough to evenly spread out the product, but soft enough to blend out harsh edges and leave a seamless finish.

If you struggle with contouring, this brush will be your new best friend! It really will make the process SO much easier!

2. Laura Mercier Fan Brush

This is one brush that many people think they don’t need. It is often overlooked in the makeup world, but EVERYONE needs a fan brush in their collection. There’s no better way to apply highlighter than with this little number.

This is a pricier fan brush, but if you are going to purchase one, don’t you want it to be awesome? A lot of other fan brushes are flimsy and way too soft to get the job done. The Laura Mercier Fan Brush is great because it is denser and holds its shape better. I think that it is the most perfect brush for setting powder. It is such a great fan brush and it is oh-so-soft too!

3. Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush

If there was only one face brush that I was ever allowed to use again, it would for sure be this one! This is my holy grail makeup brush, without a doubt. I don’t like to apply anything with my fingers, so I use this brush because it’s great for almost everything.

The greatest part…it’s only $20 dollars! For a holy grail brush, you can’t beat that!! I use it for everything — foundation, contouring powder, bronzer, blush, and even highlighting! It’s just that great. You may notice that some brushes leave lines and streaks on your face, but with this brush there is none of that. Everything looks so smooth and blended evenly.

This brush is like a bunch of little brushes in one, it has so many uses. You may never need another brush again….

4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Mini Duo Brush #7

I think that the eyebrows are the hardest part of makeup to master. I had the most difficult time filling them in the beginning. Then I found the amazing Anastasia Brow products, and I was officially saved.

This brush is perfect for lining underneath of the brow so you get that crisp clean look. It is also great for blending product throughout the brow. It makes your eyebrows look so much more natural. If you’re really good you can combo this brush with an eyebrow pencil, but if you’re a beginner you need to start with this brush. It will make the learning process so much easier!

5. Bare Minerals Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush

Ah! This brush is just amazing!

It can be SO hard to cover up dark spots or circles sometimes, but this brush will help you do the job. It has flat stiff fibers that won’t clog up with creamy concealers. It enables you to carefully cover any unwanted blemishes because it has a perfectly tapered tip. Concealer is one product that I will not leave the house without, and this brush makes it super quick and easy to conceal before running out the door.

It’s also the perfect size for putting on eye shadow primer! A little pricey at $20, but well worth the money.
